Maple Syrup Bush

Welcome to Shaws Maple Syrup Bush.

We have been tapping our forest every year since 1904, and many of those original trees are still producing our liquid gold today. Each year starting February 9 through to April 10, the tradition continues with families visiting us for their annual spring celebration. Our warm Pancake House serves up tasty treats to fuel a walk through the bush with 4000 trees all connected with tubing to collect around 160 000 liters of watery maple sap each season. On weekends we have horse-drawn wagon rides through our trails which recreated the way we collected our sap until the late 1960s . If the weather’s been “just right” you will be able to watch and smell the sweet sap boil away through the evaporator.

The wagon rides and sap evaporation are weather dependent, so please view the chart on the right, or call 705 325 4347 for updates to see when they are happening.
