On September 20th, 2008 Nelson Aggregate’s Uhthoff Quarry in Orillia was pleased to welcome and say thanks to its neighbours with an afternoon barbeque at the site. Joining in were employees and their families and we were especially pleased to see a number of retired employees who came back to say hello.
We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day that made the tours of the quarry that much more enjoyable. Of course the clown, the face painting, and the big sand pile were big hits with the youngsters. But the fun of climbing into the driver seat of the big equipment seemed to provide the most entertainment of all for the kids.
Altogether, more than 250 people attended and we thank Shaw’s Catering for setting up a great meal for the crowd. No one went away hungry!! Between the food, the disc jockey, the draw prizes and the T-shirt giveaways, everyone we spoke to had a terrific time.
A successful event like this takes a lot of hard work and planning, and the company extends its sincere thanks to the staff at the quarry for making it all happen.
